Built in 1889, this brick commercial structure was designed by Cyrus K. Porter. It was home to a number of mercantile establishments, including the home of the William Hengerer Department Store.

As a landmark in the Joseph Ellicott Historic Preservation District, the facade of the six-story building incorporates the original ornate, hand-cut medina sandstone carvings, while its arched windows are characteristic of the districts architecture. The building features a grand two-story center entrance with all interior space refurbished to enhance the 14-foot ceilings and wide, marble columns.

Today the building houses a number of law firms, real estate agents, consulting and advertising companies, along with critically acclaimed restaurant City Grill.
