Kissling Interests has begun construction on its two latest Buffalo projects, both of which involve renovating a pair of West Side buildings that date back to the late 1800s and early 1990s.
Kissling has started work turning the circa 1896 former Lake Hotel on W. Huron Street into eight loft-style apartments. Kissling has had the three-story, 11,000-square-foot building under its control since late 2009.
The building has been vacant for more than a decade and, when renovated, could serve as a lower West Side anchor.
At the same time, Kissling is also starting its renovation work on the former Miller Mansion at 249 North St. The early 1900s three-story former private residence will also be renovated into eight market rate apartments.
Renovations on both buildings should be completed later this year, with the first tenants expected to move in by early fall.
