Buffalo Bike Life
Buffalo Bike Life | Where To & When?
Chances are if you’ve lived downtown, you’ve seen your fair share of bike riders. Buffalo’s urban patterns and beautiful architecture make any ride interesting. Buffalonians with apartments and lofts downtown have started seeing why biking has it’s benefits. Having a solid 2 wheeler can be a great addition for scooting around Buffalo in the summertime, especially when the Elmwood Village is at an automotive standstill.
You can ride all the way down to Canalside for that show you wanted to catch, and not have to pay parking. If you have a bike, you might already know about these rides, but if you’re new to the area, or milling over buying yourself a new bike, these options might just motivate you to get moving.
The glow around Buffalo has brought out a new biking community, that is moving away from the motor.
Located on Colvin Ave. over in North Buffalo, the non profit is housed in a brick and mortar building that offers new and experienced bikers ride-routes and workshops. They also have special events throughout the summer. Join a group of other riders for a guided tour, highlighting landmarks and landscapes, or stop in the community workshop to learn how to repair and maintain your bike. Need a bike? they have refurbished bikes for sale!

Buffalo has become quite the bike able city for those living in apartments and lofts downtown. Many of the streets in and around Buffalo NY have had bike lanes painted on them over the last few years, which make it much safer and easier to scoot about town. Riding a bike alone, or with a friend is a great way to see our city, get good exercise, and save gas. (and parking ticket funds!)
