Time to Clean | 4 Tips For Cleaning for Spring in Buffalo

Well, it’s almost the best time of the year to live in Buffalo. Winter is coming to a close. The soiled streets become cleaner and the grass gets greener. As the Buffalo NY landscape beautifies and moves into Spring, it’s time to start thinking about cleaning up that pad. Once it gets nice out, you, like most Western New Yorkers, will probably start spending the majority of your free time outside of your apartment, so let’s get this moving!

Clean Out the Fridge

Throw out anything you aren’t, won’t, or can’t eat. Get rid of it. Take it out of your apartment. Get it gone. Next, get everything settled and clean that fridge. A great idea is using a combination of salt & soda water. The soda water bubbles, and the salt adds great texture for cleaning off stains.

Make that Faucet Sparkle

Having trouble getting lime and grime off that faucet? Try laying paper towels over it, soaking it with vinegar, and letting it set for about an hour. Once this sets in, it will be much easier for you to remove.

Change Out Bedding

Think about how often hotel’s change out their bedding. Not that your apartment needs to be changed out daily, but chances are, it’s been a while. If your comforter doesn’t need to be washed, it’s a good idea to air it out, after a long closed-up winter. Hang it out on a clothesline for a day to freshen it up a little.

Dusty Drapes & Curtains

If they are looking a little musky, remove any hooks and throw them in the dryer on air-fluff with a damp towel. This will draw off any lint and dust and make them look cleaner. As soon as they’re done, put them back up on the hooks to avoid any wrinkling.

Don’t wait til summer’s almost gone to get your apartment clean. Living in a loft or apartment in Buffalo can give you some serious cabin fever throughout the winter. This can lead you to let things start to collect dust around your apartment. Be sure that you have the best possible summer you can, with a clean and fresh apartment! Plus, it’s always healthy to get the place cleaned up! Kissling offers some of the best apartments and lofts around Buffalo NY, for more information on finding a new pad, just give us a call or fill out our contact form on our contact us page!

SPACE AVAILABLE – CALL ROSE SEEGE at (716) 853-2787 ext. 102

History – Situated in the core of downtown Buffalo, 298 Main Street was first developed by Dr. James Platt White in 1881 –  an eminent citizen who was influential in the creation of the University of Buffalo School of Medicine.  The “original” White Building, as it was then known, was 7 stories tall and the first fireproof building in Buffalo.  In 1905, Dr. White’s widow, Mary Anna White, replaced the original building with the current structure – the “new” White Building (now called The Main and Cathedral Building).  Designed by the renowned architecture and structural engineering firm of R.J. Reidpath and Sons, it is constructed from concrete and brick and fronts both Main Street and Cathedral Park.  The building’s architecture is quietly elegant, blending the symmetry of Georgian Architecture with Italian Renaissance design elements such as stone dentil cornices.

Vision – We are adaptively redeveloping 298 Main Street into a mixed-use transit oriented development with Class A office space, live/work loft apartments, penthouse lofts, a stunningly appointed lobby and ground level retail space.  The building will contain 14,000 ft2 of ground floor retail, 45,000 ft2 of office space and 45,000 ft2 of residential space – including 24 live/work lofts on floors 7-10 and two penthouse lofts on floor 11.

Amenities – Among the amenities included in each apartment will be granite countertops, high-end stainless steel appliances, modern energy-efficient lighting fixtures and in-apartment laundry units.  Building amenities will include: 24 hours a day security and valet parking; 16 hours a day concierge; video intercoms to announce guests; and inclusion of utilities (except electric), cable and internet.  All apartments include 1 free parking spot at the Pearl Street parking garage with guaranteed availability of 1 more for a small monthly fee.  NFTA Metro Rail stops (in both directions) are less than 100 feet from the entrances and at least 15 crosstown NFTA Bus Stops are within a ¼ mile radius.
